Justin brings curiosity, vision, and heart to every project—creating experiences that connect with emotion and translating complex insights into stories that resonate.
I'm a Data Analyst with a background in full-stack programming and communications. I thrive in spaces where I can use my skills in analysis, data visualization, and storytelling to optimize processes and drive strategic decisions.
Graduating as valedictorian from the BCIT Computer Systems Technology program in 2025, I possess a technical understanding of Relational Databases, SQL, and Statistical Analysis. I'm also expanding my expertise in Python, R, and Tableau through certification courses on Coursera.
Before pivoting to tech, I studied Communications at SFU and worked as a visual artist and performer. This background in multiple kinds of storytelling helps me translate complex technical insights into engaging, concise narratives that resonate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Impact Highlights:
- Strategic Planning: Hosted the 2024 BCITSA QDS Hacks with 50% of the previous budget, yet doubled competitor capacity and increased prize money by converting the hackathon to a hybrid model.
- Process Optimization: Partnered with TELUS Business Analysts to develop job aids and training manuals, standardizing quality of care and best practices among TELUS campuses across Canada and internationally.
- Full-Stack Application: Currently building a directory app for the RAPS Cat Sanctuary to help volunteers and guests identify over 500 cats, combining full-stack development with database design.
Outside of work, I'm a longtime volunteer for RAPS Cat Sanctuary, taking care of over 500 cats twice a week. Being at the Sanctuary not only allows me to reset and relax away from screens, but it also connects me with other volunteers who share a strong commitment to care, consistency, and giving back.
